Those are great points about Dyne’s part of the story, and the side quests do eventually feel like a chore because of how fatigued you are after a couple areas of em. They also feel too scripted, and the game needed only two or three cool side things we could stumble on in the wild (perhaps hard to reach places) that are not part of some game objective list or given to you by an npc. They would feel unique and stand out as really cool side story with decent to great rewards. Please listen to Nico and Max Dood’s video for some possible explanations of what’s actually going down currently and in the future of the story.

Ok.... to be clear here you don't have to "believe all the lies" or just "be evil" to "betray" Orpheus. No offense intended, you did put the video together well and this is all certainly ways to look at it, but your bias is seeping through. For one, The Emperor technically isn't lying, he legit believes what he tells you about Orpheus attacking us and if we were to free him earlier in the story when learning all of this info but prior to knowing anything about the ultimate machinations of the Absolute, Orpheus really wouldn't have much need for us in his eyes and probably wouldn't restrain himself from attacking. Also remember, The Emperor actually never tells a lie throughout the whole game, he simply leaves out a TON of details, which can be seen as "lies of omission" which is fair, but he never overtly lies like you suggest he does here. You also don't have to believe Vlaakith's lies or have a hatred of Githyanki, don't forget that the Githyanki are fucking AWFUL in the forgotten realms, they're essentially space pirates that are building their own empire in the exact same manner of the Illithid's before them, they are a product of their upbringing and know no other way of conquest and pursue it with zealous fervor. The key to this is it starts with Gith, Vlaakith nurtured the xenophobic supremacy of the Githyanki but they were never a "good" race of people, even the Githzerai who refused Vlaakith are still assholes to literally anyone and everyone, they just don't enslave everything they come across. So NOT freeing this race of zealots from the tethers that essentially keep them constrained could very easily be seen as a good thing. Finally, you can actually just be working with The Emperor. I know a lot of people see him as this irredeemable liar who was manipulating you from the start and everytime you question him or push against his plans he whines like a little bitch about it and eventually just fucks off to the enemy for the dumbest reasons, BUT if you ever have a playthrough where you just work with him, he doesn't actually ever lie to you, he doesn't try and manipulate you, he's actually rather kind when you surprise him by not being an asshole to him, and he completely and entirely holds up his end of your deal with him at the end of the game. When you play in cooperation with him, it's not cause "he manipulated you into it," you just literally have the same goals and he has no need for manipulation and he's actually a steadfast ally. So why betray him at the very end for Orpheus? A man you know nothing about who could very well try and kill you when he's released and if he doesn't could free a race of awful space pirates to start more effectively raiding the planes. So you see, there are even more reasons to not betray The Emperor for Orpheus, you just have to open your eyes even wider to see them all lol

This is my exact reasoning. Though I also saw it like this: If I'm in charge of both the Minutemen and the Institute, then I have the most power to make lasting change and rebuild society. The Minutemen can provide security at settlements, give the people a sense of normalcy, and ultimately, over time, I could use them to warm attitudes towards the Institute. Especially if I started stationing Coursers at settlements and making Institute personnel spend mandatory time at a settlement every year so they can get to know the people of the Commonwealth. In my first playthrough, I also roleplayed that I was using Institute tech to rebuild settlements and improve the standard of living with nuclear power, clean, fresh water, and climate controlled buildings (I used Vault Tec parts as they were the closest to the Institute in aesthetics without mods), all well defended with turrets, soldiers, and machines. While game mechanics didn't allow me to put synths there are part of the defenses, if I actually found myself in that situation, that is precisely what I'd do. The military checkpoints would not be the only places that had a detachment of Synth patrollers guarding it. The Minutemen would be in charge, but they'd be something akin to the new police force. To this end, I also romanced Piper and did my best to help people in the Commonwealth. I killed off the Nukaworld gangs, etc. Again, game mechanics wouldn't let me take Piper to the Institute even as its director (dumb), but I roleplayed that I would eventually do that. I would give her a peak behind the curtain, let her see everything, the good and the bad, and really sell her on it. She'd go back to Diamond City and write about it. I'd even hold meetings with the public, just like the mayor did, so I could ease their concerns. I'd also immediately end the synth replacement practice, with the exception of those already in place in key roles (Diamond City's mayor, for example). I'd also admit to the slaughter of the Railroad leadership. I'd tell people exactly why I did it. I did it out of necessity. I attempted to broker peace, to make Desdemona see reason, but she insisted on nuking the institute and destroying all of that scientific research, making a whole community homeless, while also destroying the only means to create synths, thus dooming their species. She was a zealout, and unfortunately the rest of her leadership refused to bend, even my good friend Deacon, who was by far the person I least wanted to have to take out. I'd also apologize for it and attempt to make peace with any survivors, welcoming them to join the Minutemen, and letting them protect synths in route to Libertalia- this time with Institute assistance. I'd probably also give them what they have always wanted: the liberation of synths. Relatively speaking, anyway. Synths would be given rights. They'd still have rules, and still be a part of the Institute, but they would be treated better, given somewhat more autonomy. The only synths that would be hunted by Coursers would be rogue synths. Any that wished to leave the Institute would be allowed to do so, provided that they maintain contact and their locations are known, or they go to Far Harbor and join up with Dima. Most Railroad survivors would probably accept that deal. The ones who didn't, who decided to keep attacking the Institute would be painted as ideological terrorists and mopped up as needed. As the lives of the people get better, as they feel safer with Coursers and Minutemen watching their backs and protecting them, and as the Institute goes from boogeyman to the hope for humanity and a source of education and innovation, those still fighting would increasingly be seen as no different than raiders. The public would turn on them. Not only would their numbers thin, but the few that remained would lose all morale. The Railroad would be pretty much permanently derailed. With a charismatic, kind leader who also has the support of the people, the Institute would be safer than ever, and the Commonwealth would thrive. When I passed, I would put the Institute under democratic control as part of a Commonwealth government. The old guard might not like it at first, but they can just deal with it.

I hate its quest system, with so many quest getting blocked by progression. It’s a mess.

In case you were wondering, it looks like your Minsc was wearing Kethric’s armor which prevents you from being moved against your will. That’s why he was able to run around the artist’s mansion without ghostly harassment

Is it really “betraying” him to persuade him not to Ascend, though? You’re steering him down a morally better path. You also kinda left out the part where he’s clearly conflicted about it all when you meet the other prisoners in the room before Cazador. Also, you leave out-and actually straight up misinform on-the powers he gains on Ascending. Not only does he get the upgraded bite, he also gets a free 1d10 necrotic roll on all weapon attacks. With hand crossbows, this is extraordinarily powerful. He also gets gaseous form-which you said he does not. Furthermore, if you are romancing him, there’s still more-you can agree to become his Spawn, err, well he prefers the term “””consort”””. I will warn that continuing the romance in this path is not for the faint of heart. And this is also not available on a Karlach origin-she cannot be turned, and he will dump you in a very heartwrenching way. (Not sure how this goes in reverse-not sure I want to put in the 60-ish hours to find out). But, you do get a new vampyric bite skill for yourself.

From what I hear the only way to save that cop in Kabuki looking into gangs and corruption is as a nomad. Otherwise she starts going punisher on the corrupt cops who tried to have her killed and eventually dies charging a police precinct.

I never really had that big of a gripe with Netwatch as an agency. They absolutely arnt squeaky clean, however, they are actually doing something that's actually beneficial for the world by holding back the horrors beyond the black-wall. And secondly, I like them because they Scorched the voodoo boys and spared us.

I played a kinda-cursed timeline, myself. Trilogy collection, but no DLC since no Internet connection. Damn it. Time to play Legendary Ed. and Finish the Story!

They are great RP wise and add some nice flavour to the game, but yeah utlimately they don't have a huge effect on the game.
